The India Tourism Data Portal is an official platform of the Ministry of Tourism's Research & Analytics (R&A) Division. It provides free, public access to India's official tourism statistics — including Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs), Domestic Tourist Visits (DTVs), Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs), e-Visa data, Tourism GDP & employment estimates, and international tourism benchmarks. It is designed to serve as a one-stop reference for all official tourism data published by the Ministry.

The portal is open to all users without any registration or fee. This includes central and state government officials and planners, researchers and academic institutions, industry bodies and tourism businesses, journalists and media, international organisations such as UN Tourism and World Bank, and members of the general public. All datasets are freely downloadable.

The portal covers: Foreign Tourist Arrivals (FTAs) — monthly, annual, nationality-wise, port-wise, purpose-wise; Domestic Tourist Visits (DTVs) — state/UT-wise; Foreign Exchange Earnings (FEEs) — monthly in INR and USD; e-Visa and Visa-on-Arrival statistics; Tourism's contribution to GDP and employment; Travel & Tourism Development Index (TTDI) indicators; Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) estimates; and State/UT-level tourism snapshots.

Monthly FTA figures and FEE estimates are released within approximately 1 month of the reference month, based on data from the Bureau of Immigration and the Reserve Bank of India. Annual publications — India Tourism Statistics and the Quarterly Tourism Snapshot — are updated on their fixed release cycles. State/UT-level data is compiled and updated as received from State governments and UT administrations.

Yes. The R&A Division follows the International Recommendations for Tourism Statistics (IRTS 2008) endorsed by the United Nations. India's data is reported to UN Tourism annually and is aligned with global measurement frameworks. The portal includes India's share and rank in world tourist arrivals and tourism receipts, comparisons with BRICS and SAARC countries, and World Economic Forum TTDI benchmarks — enabling direct international comparison.

Flagship publications including India Tourism Statistics, India Tourism Statistics At-a-Glance, and the Quarterly Tourism Snapshot are available under the Publications section. Historical datasets can be accessed and downloaded from the Data section. For RTI-related requests, users may contact the Ministry's CPIO at tourism.gov.in.
